Bleeding Hearts Paisley Stencil (S903) designed by Jennifer Evans for StencilGirl (6 inch by 6 inch). Jennifer Evans designed Bleeding Hearts Paisley for her Paisley Florals collection. The Paisley motif has been around for centuries. Some trace its beginnings to ancient Babylon or in weavings dating back to the first millennium BC. The paisley, known as "boteh" or "buta" refers to the teardrop shape and has been used in weavings, fabric and home decor by people worldwide. Depending on the culture, it can symbolize a tree, fire, the yin-yang symbol, or a spray of floral elements. The early season bloomer, Bleeding Hearts, are the inspiration for this main paisley. The hearts seem to be bursting away from their tendrils, while leaves, sprouts and a tulip fill the center column.
